Piping Inspector
Our client, a World Class Manufacturing Environment company based in the Vaal Triangle has a vacancy for a Piping Inspector with the following:

The successful candidate will be involved in the In service pipe inspection project activities in the mechanical environment, execution of maintenance and project activities and solving problems by applying sound principles.
Qualifications
• Matric (Math and Science)
• Red Seal Trade - Welding Artisan
• Certificate in SAIW Level II or CSWIP Level III 3.2.1
• NBIC23, API 570, API 653, ASME B31.3, CP, UT, PER training or any other relevant inspection
• qualification will be an advantage
Experience
• 3 Years extensive, proven and applied experience in Inservice pipe inspections.
• 5 Years Welding Artisan experience.
• Knowledge of pipe inspections, materials and standards to assist with the development, application evaluation and documentation of In service pipe inspections.
• Applied experience in maintaining integrity according to relevant codes and standards.
• Excellent SHERQ experience.
Duties
• Take charge on all pipe inspection activities Inservice in the workshop and onsite.
• Comply with the relevant codes and standards.
• Play a main role in In service piping and pipeline inspection as key member.
• Conduct in house inspections before, during and after as routine work.
• Manage all NDT activities in house as well as sub-contractors.
• Maintain and uplift the integrity of piping and pipelines.
• Be self-driven by implementing and monitoring an inspection plan for In service piping/pipeline.
• Train and share knowledge with the team to enhance the quality performance.
• Proactive planning to achieve targets and reduce cost/time.
• Make decisions and solve technical problems.
• Perform inspections on pipes, structures, and storage tanks.
• Keep track of inspection documentation (data packs).
• Assist with maintenance and project activities.
• Assist with work during shutdowns and commissioning.
• Conduct engineering and plant risk assessments (HIRA).
• Record and report all findings to management during inspections.
• SHERQ compliance and procedures.
