Job Description
Evaluate, prepare and review mine design, reserves, ore control, productivity and project feasibility
Ensure the planning of site mining operations are scheduled to maximise values of resources and are in line with safety policies, market demand and business risk
Manage the underground mine design and optimisation thereof, this includes development and stopping
Create plans that optimise financial results and achieves all site objectives and goals
Coordinate site planning whilst participating in regional and corporate planning
Correlate and monitor Mine Engineers, GeoTechnical Engineering, Survey and Technical Applications staff
Ensure Safety objectives are adhered to and that all operations are in line with environmental and safety rules
Engage in risk assessments and mitigation plans and contribute to safe practices and environmental awareness
Identify possible hazards and ensure that appropriate action is taken
Ensure a high standard of safety, efficiency and effectiveness is always followed
Attend regular meetings and resolve any safety issues
Create budgets for underground production and provide technical resources to ensure those budgets are met
Manage production scheduling, budgeting, cut off grades and cost control analysis
Use mine design software to visually communicate designs
Minimum Requirements
Bsc. Mining Engineering
5 years exp in mining engineering operations such as blasting, drilling, service crew works & haulage
Proficient in 2D & 3D Dewisk Mine Planning Solutions
Proficient in MS Office
Exp in scheduling short, medium and long term
Valid driver's license
