Our client in the FMCG sector has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Engineer (Government Certificate), PE

Objective of the role:

The Plant Engineer is responsible for providing leadership and to determine policy in the fields of engineering, maintenance and planning and being the GMR2 appointee, to ensure that all machinery complies with the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Requirements:

A Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree,
Government Certificate of Competence
At least 10 years’ experience in supervisory capacity in an Engineering and Project Management environment within the FMCG industry, is required.
A Project Management Certificate will be advantageous.


Results Required:

Enforce internal safety systems
Take corrective measures to ensure machinery compliance to the OHS Act
Adhere to general manufacturing practices
Maintain a high standard of Plant housekeeping
Review and maintain a preventive maintenance programme
Responsible to ensuring that all schedules and SOP’s are in place
Form part of the consultation, review, implementation and design team for capital projects
Effective project execution, within budget and allocated time period
Compile scope clarifications and budgets
Effective management of staff and related processes
