Our client, in the agricultural industry, requires the service of a Plant Tissue Culture Manager.

Key performance areas:

? Ensure that the operations of the industry’s Plant Tissue Culture Facility is optimally planned, managed and executed in terms of international best practices and procedures.
? Ensure that the production targets are met in line with customer experience and a growing demand.
? Ensure that operations plans are aligned to shareholder and client requirements.
? Operational management regarding, plant orders; facilities; quality control; outsourced services etc.
? Develop initiation protocols for effective micro propagation
? Develop research networks to enhance collaborative opportunities and build relationships.
? Continuously research new methods to expand product offering.
? Relationship management.
? Budget management and financial reporting.
? Asset management.
? People Management including recruitment, training, development and performance management.

The successful candidate must have:

? Matric with a BSc degree in Plant Science specializing in TC research; Biotechnology or Molecular Biology
? 3 – 5 years’ operations management experience in a commercial Plant Tissue Culture Facility.
? Must have experience working in a laboratory
? Excellent computer literacy (MS Office – Full package)
? Excellent planning and organisational/coordination skills
? Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
? Ability to multitask, reach targets and deliver quality output.
? Strong problem solving, decision making and leadership skills.
? Knowledge and experience in people management
? Strong focus on service delivery
? Honest and trustworthy
? Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
