N6 in Electrical Engineering Light Current or Instrumentation and Process Control obtained via TVET / Technical College
Trade Test certificate (Instrument and Process Control or Instrument Mechanician) OR National Diploma In Electrical Engineering (Light Current) OR Instrumentation and Process Control obtained via University of Technology
Minimum of 3-6 years’ work experience in Control & Instrumentation (C & I) 3 years with working experience in Siemens 7 PLC + WinCC SCADA software development and Network Equipment
Mill operation and HPGR operation experience advantage
Must be able to Read and interpret and maintain instrumentation drawings. essential
Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite.
Must have a Valid driver's license
Install and maintain process instruments and control elements.
Calibrate process instruments.
Install and maintain application specific electronic systems.
Perform advanced fault finding and repairs.
Carry out repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance work on all C & I equipment and related control systems to comply with product technical specifications and deliver production objectives
Install + maintain networks, and instrumentation and do fault finding on the hardware and software level
Assist Foreman in executing his/his duties when required.
Provide subject matter expertise and skills in area of responsibility; advising on solutions to enhance or ensure the effectiveness of the department
Responsible for the safe installation and maintenance of radiation equipment where applicable.
De-energise and apply the lock-out procedure as per company policy.
Attend to the relevant administrative functions, such as:
C&I documentation upkeep.
Compiling procurement specifications.
Ordering spares according to departmental procedure.
Execute C & I projects in line with accepted project management principles to enhance, improve and optimise operations
Ensure the efficient operation of the Recovery machines.
Continuously analyse equipment efficiencies to recommend or implementing improvements and changes to maximise operations.
Co-ordinate + monitor equipment availability to ensure adherence to production parameters.
Co-ordinate the monitoring, installation, service and reconditioning of a variety of equipment, instruments and control systems.
Monitor the implementation of new equipment and systems, taking specifications in consideration.
Investigate and diagnose problems and breakdowns to determine resource requirements.
Perform standby duties and attend to breakdowns.

Perform risk assessments (Mini) and participate in risk assessments (Activity based) and Plan task observations.
Provide Input to risk assessments, safe work procedures and Planned Task Observations, monitor, train and implement all codes of practice, policies, procedures, risk assessments and standards and ensure all are in place for the effective management of safe working conditions in terms of related area of responsibilities and legal requirements.
Establish and maintain good working relationships and effective / sound communication systems within the Engineering Function and operation.
