A company, specializing in Leather products, requires the skills and experience of a Process Engineer (permanent position). The position is based in the North-West area of Pretoria.

Duties and responsibilities:
Manage the operation of the knife section as a service department to the Leather & Foam Cutting processes
Ensure cutting knives are made, ordered or repaired as per the requirements of the templates
Ensure knives / Master Temples / Working Templates and Layouts are distributed as required
Co-ordinate new projects on cut part/kits in collaboration with Plant Manager
Implement change levels for the following tech data to be updated: Packing slips, Explosion pictures, Layouts, Knife Identification, Internal notice on CHG levels for 2 weeks on tables
Supervise current procedures and improvement projects including new methods of making knives
Manage all Approvals, Stamping, & Auditing regarding knives, packing slips, layouts and explosion pictures
Manage knife costings and control all quality functions in the knife area
Ensure departmental consumables and raw materials are in supply and order as required
Manage the Foam Cutting process, including stock control of foam rolls, cut foams and supply to laminating
Coordinate disposal of waste from foam cutting
Daily reporting to the Plant Manager Assistant regarding all roll and cut part stock used
Coordinate process improvements including new forms, completion of Corrective Actions & LOP
Manage people, equipment and resources accordingly
Create new markers for new models or improvements for better material savings including digitizing
Monitor cutting board usage and changes in production
Monitor the Perforation, Bonding process and Stamping process from a technical process & machine set-up
Manage Technical projects (CAD, Creation of Mylars, Packing Slips, Cutting of Samples, etc.)
Stop any non-conforming process
Decide in collaboration with Project Engineer on submissions, samples etc. as needed by customers

Requirements:
Matric / Grade 12 (or equivalent)
Engineering Qualification (Industrial / Mechanical)
5 years’ experience in automotive leather, preferably leather cutting process
Computer literacy
Technical Troubleshooting skills
