Procurement Manager – Gauteng (Telecoms)

A well established telecoms organisation with a large African footprint is expanding their Procurement team and they are looking for a highly energetic and deadline driven Procurement Manager to join their Southern Africa Head Office in Johannesburg.

You will be responsible for overseeing the Group subsidiaries sourcing operations and contract management. Additionally, you will develop an effective and efficient procurement function ensuring all operational and strategic sourcing operations are aligned with the Group company procurement policies and procedures.

Wholesale broadband, internet, cloud and security sector experience is non negoatiable.

Minimum requirements include but are not limited to the following:
• A degree or diploma – in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution is essential
• You will have good knowledge of and procurement experience within the ICT / Telecoms sector (at least 5 years) - wholesale broadband, internet, cloud and security.
• Minimum of 10 years’ overall experience in Procurement, with at least 5 at management level.
• Competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)).
• Strong procurement background and knowledge of operational and strategic sourcing.
• Previous experience negotiating and concluding contracts with suppliers, coupled with the ability to recognise and mitigate contractual risks.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be open to business travel (locally and regionally) on accession / as and when required
