Product Analyst: Group Risk
Sandton, Johannesburg
R15 000 - R25 000 pm

Screen and analyse new and existing business pricing requests and record information on pricing processes.
Report to the Senior Actuarial Analyst, who is accountable for the group risk pricing
functions.

• Screening and analyzing new and existing business pricing requests:
Analyze and format data received from broker
• Gathering, assessing and analyzing all relevant information needed to:
Provide a new business cover proposal
Review existing business premium rates and terms and conditions
• Preparing quality Cover Proposal Documents for both existing and new business
(including program runs to determine rates) which are accurate and timeous
• Compiling, monitoring and analyze claims experience for new and existing business
• Assessing and calculating the risk rate, free cover limits and underwriting
• requirements for the products requested utilizing the current pricing tools.
• Provide feedback to Product Development on current benefits and opportunities
• Determining suitable terms and conditions so that the risk can be managed.
• Consider wider topics of risk management such as occupational and industry risks.
• Identifying and solving of problems within the business environment
• Liaising with clients (both external and internal) on rates, products, tenders, revision
• and other risk issues
• Collaborate with reinsures for benefit rates on a treaty - and facultative
• arrangement basis
• Assisting with ad-hoc projects and miscellaneous queries
• Meet deadlines set
• Retrieve data from administration systems
• Assist new recruits in up-skilling

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Grade 12 / Matric with Maths Literacy NFS achievement level 3
• Graduate from University or Technikon or be studying towards a degree / diploma having completed the first year of studies
• 2 - 5 years in a Group Risk and Pricing Environment
• Good knowledge of the business administration platforms
• Familiar with Compliance Processes and Procedures in the Insurance Industry
• Familiar with the business products and their rules and workings
• Analytical thinking (including problem identification and problem analysis)
• Data management skills
• Excellent people skills
• Be able to work well independently and within a team
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Advanced MS-Office, Excel and Word
• Quality and service oriented.
