Our client is looking for a Product Coordinator to join their team in Wellington. Experience within the Fruit / FMCG industry will be beneficial.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and manage procurement strategy
Continuously acquire information on the availability of product, changes in supply and trends within the area in relation to quality, timing, volume and weather
Ensure sufficient product is packed according to marketing needs
Liaise with commercial team and suppliers, ensuring product is available for programs and orders
within the correct specifications
Ensure correct packaging is used for the market requirements (i.e., labels, date codes etc.)
Effective and timely communication to marketers if product not available
Obtaining of new suppliers and new product that will suit our sales offering
Responsible for final price negotiation when sourcing product
Responsible for all administration related to farmers and product, including, but not limited to onboarding of farmers; stock file intakes; certifications; loadout instructions; dispatch notes; complete purchase prices on system and processing of data to produce meaningful reports for both supplier, and commercial team’s decision making
Quality control of products
On farm prior to packing, as well as packed product in cold-rooms
Communication regarding poor quality to marketers as soon as possible
Provide timeous and professional feedback of quality problems to producers
Physical stock takes in cold-rooms and matching thereof on system
Manage packaging materials
Manage farmer relationships professionally in order to build Star South image
Provide assistance to other Product Coordinators

REQUIREMENTS:
Please note, it is an inherent requirement of this job to stay in the Groblersdal region for three months of the year.
Must be proficient in handling data and working with systems
Previous work experience in procurement of fruit and the packing thereof
Knowledge of fruit production in general
Ability to build strong relationships
Excellent communication skills
Problem solver (able to resolve queries quick and efficient)
Must be able to manage time effectively and prioritize well
Work well under pressure

SALARY:
Market related, depending on experience and qualification, plus, company car (fringe benefit) and cell phone

STARTING DATE:
