Product Specialist: Group Risk

Driving the formulation and implementation of the risk model and claims philosophy, analysis of claims and other data to recommend and implement changes to the risk model, sanctioning new risk strategies, managing relationships and policies with the reinsurers, creating training material and educate risk consultants on industry trends, standards and risk management skills, assisting with the definition of operational processes related to risk management. Reporting to the Senior Actuarial Analyst.

• Screening and analysing new and existing business pricing requests:
o Analyse and format data received from broker
• Gathering, assessing and analysing all relevant information needed to:
o Provide a new business cover proposal
o Review existing business premium rates and terms and conditions
• Preparing quality Cover Proposal Documents for both existing and new business (including program runs to determine rates) which are accurate and timeous:
• Compiling, monitoring and analyse claims experience for new and existing business
• Assessing and calculating the risk rate, free cover limits and underwriting requirements for the products requested utilising the current pricing tools.
• Provide feedback to Product Development on current benefits and opportunities
• Determining suitable terms and conditions so that the risk can be managed.
• Consider wider topics of risk management such as occupational and industry risks.
• Identifying and solving of problems within the business environment
• Liaising with clients (both external and internal) on rates, products, tenders, revision and other risk issues
• Collaborate with reinsures for benefit rates on a treaty - and facultative arrangement basis
• Assisting with ad-hoc projects and miscellaneous queries
• Meet deadlines set
• Retrieve data from administration systems
• Assist new recruits in up-skilling

120 FIAS Credits, must be able to be a Rep for FSP
NQF level 5 industry related qualification
Minimum 3 + years’ experience, 3rd party, Financial Distribution with Group Risk speciality
