Production General Manager - Galvanising, Construction Products and Road Safety Product divisions

The company is looking for a highly organized production manager to create production schedules, oversee the production processes and to ensure that the required materials are selected and purchased for the various divisions.
The Production Manager is also responsible for ensuring that all the manufacturing equipment and the galvanizing plants function correctly and that the health and safety protocols are adhered to.
In addition, you are responsible for the compiling your portion of the annual budgets for the Galvanising, Construction Products and Road Safety Product divisions, as well as the subsequent revisions thereof
To be successful as a production manager you must be able to multitask and oversee several operations at a time. A good production manager should have excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
Production Manager Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Creating production schedules and managing the various divisional Plant Managers
Ensuring and overseeing the training new employees within the various divisions in conjunction with the Plant and HR managers.
Scheduling regular maintenance for equipment with the Maintenance Manager.
Liaising with the shop stewards and shop floor employees.
Planning of shift work with the relevant factory managers when required
Advising of ex works dates with clients when required.
Purchasing the required materials.
The compilation and updating of all the price lists for the various products in the various divisions
Ensuring that health and safety protocols as well as all applicable regulations are adhered to.
Working in harmony with the other Armco Sales, Financial Managers and the Managing Director

Production General Manager Requirements:

A qualification in production management or experience in a similar role previously.
A technical/engineering background would be advantageous.
Industry-related experience in the galvanising, steel and plastic manufacturing would be advantageous.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literacy in Word, Excel, Power Point.
A valid driver’s license
