Production Manager, Electronic equipment manufacturing - Alberton - Ref: 1192210-3
We are looking for a driven and target-orientated Production Manager with an excellent understanding of diversity of people and the ability to work with people in the most complex situations to reach agreed targets.
The ideal candidate will have 5 years’ post qualification experience in a production environment in electronic equipment manufacturing of which at least 3 years in a management capacity. ISO 9001 Standards exposure and understanding.
Position details:
Type: Permanent
Reports to: Senior Production Manager
Primary purpose: The incumbent will be responsible for the management of the various production activities of one manufacturing unit or factory through subordinate foremen and supervisors in order to achieve planned production targets and to ensure the effective use of available resources.
Job description / core competencies:
• Preparation and scheduling of daily production targets in close co-operation with Management and relevant subordinates.
• Directs and co-ordinates the activities of groups of foremen who supervise skilled and semi-skilled employees engaged in performing a variety of production or assembly operations.
• Liaises with the relevant departments on production schedules, material supplies and quality standards.
• Advises in terms of delays so that corrective action can be taken.
• Schedule regular plant maintenance.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
• National Diploma in Production Management. An Industrial Engineering Diploma will be advantageous.
• 5 Years post qualification experience in a production environment in electronic equipment manufacturing of which at least 3 years in a management capacity.
• ISO 9001 Standards exposure and understanding.
• Detailed orientated and good people skills.
• Driven and target orientated with strong interpersonal relationship skills, an understanding of diversity of people and the ability to work with people in the most complex situations is essential to reach agreed targets.
• The incumbent needs to be assertive and have strong teamwork, interpersonal, communication and motivational skills.
• He/ she must be able to maintain strong corrective discipline and will be required to follow up on poor performance issues.
• Hands on and practical individual.
• Computer literate.
• Report writing skills.
