Purpose of the Job:
The Production Manager manages daily production activities end-to end to ensure that the daily production plan is achieved. The Production Manager impacts on the production activities by guiding production shift leaders and their respective teams to produce quality products complying with all Customer Specifications, Food Safety requirements and Quality Specifications and Legal requirements with the assistance of his Supporting department. Clear guidelines and communication between all departments needs to be managed.

Job Responsibilities
• To take full responsibility of the all shifts in terms of management of staff, management of production and quality targets and to ensure the smooth running of production processes
• To take full responsibility of the quality and production that is produced within the shift in the line with company ‘s quality systems, processes and procedure and GMP
• Monitor, measure and report on production related to process performance, general issues
• To ensure good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff
• Data collection and reporting -use and mastery of IQMS and other tools to meet business needs
• Stock takes, and cycle counts as well variances must be properly managed.
• Work with production planner to ensure we produce according to the plan.
• Safety-adheres to all safety standard in the factory, ensures compliances in all production sections.
• Quality-drives quality improvements reduce waste of all materials in the production areas.
• To ensure that KPI targets and production deadlines are met at all costs.
• To ensure that all employees comply with the company procedures & policies.
• To work closely with Operations Manager
• Managing of all production and or processing functions is of high essence.
• To have problem solving & trouble shooting skills is of paramount important.
• To ensure that the training skills are met for current & future demands of the shifts.

Our ideal candidate should have the following:

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
• BTech in Operations / Production management.
• 5 years minimum experience in food manufacturing environment.
• Experience in DMS, SYSPRO or SAP and Shop ware
• Computer Literate (Excel, Power point, Outlook, Word)
• HACCP Certificate & experience
• GMP Certificate & experience
• Exposure to learn manufacturing practices
• 5 S implementation knowledge
