POSITION PRODUCTION MANAGER
DIVISION SUPPLY CHAIN

JOB OBJECTIVE

• To manage the various Production activities ASC to achieved planned production targets and to ensure the effective use of resources.
• To ensure that all production activities are in line with cGMP requirements as per Health Authority and company guidelines and procedures.
• Ensure strict adherence to the site VMP and ensure that Production equipment is qualified and is fit for use.
• To ensure effective management of production and packing requirements to meet at customer demand whilst improving processes, flow and output.
• To develop, lead and motivate staff whilst ensuring effective staff utilization, cross skilling and training when required.
• To identify shortfalls and bottlenecks within the department and provide proposals for improving output
• To ensure monthly reports on all departments are submitted timeously and accurately to Operations Manager as required.
• To provide detailed records of waste by department on a monthly basis and reduce annual waste.
• Prepare and manage departmental budget discrepancies and investigate and report on a monthly basis.

TASK DESCRIPTION

• Manage and execute production output targets from logistics.
• Manage the effective utilization of machinery and equipment and production resources with a view to increasing productivity and decreasing costs.
• Ensure compliance and implementation of GMP, QC, MCC and in-house inspections.
• Manage the production budget (budget vs. actual; unit vs. standard costs; costs of non-conformance; costs against international benchmarks.
• Responsible for Capex Budget – timeous implementation of budget spending to facilitate production requirements.
• Manage batch defects and reworks - improve procedures, methods etc.
• Improve and modify processes and machinery to increase productivity.
• Ensure staff are trained on all Company S.O.P.’s and procedures, adhering to the guidelines set out in Procedure A15.
• Implement and ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements (viz. Protective Clothing, Contract cleaners, Pest Control, Fire Safety, Staff Medical Check-ups, Waste Disposal).
• Manage and ensure maintenance and service of air-handling, extraction and general infra-structure of plant, adhering to the relevant Company Procedures.
• Staff monitoring and general admin functions, e.g. leave, overtime, procedures etc.
• Disciplinary procedures and internal control.
• Factory documentation:
• Draft, update, check and control,
• Production reconciliation, batch certification,
• Production reworks, process changes and improvements

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

• Matric
• Management course
• B.Pharm degree
• CGMP
• At least 8 years manufacturing experience
