Our client in the FMCG industry is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor with the following requirements and experience.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Grade 12 or relevant NQF level 4 qualification.
A minimum of a National Diploma in production management.
Supervisory experience is compulsory.
3 – 5 years working experience in a Food manufacturing industry.
Excellent leadership and management qualities.
Ability to interact in an effective manner with all levels of the organization.
Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure.
Good knowledge of GMP’s / HACCP / FSSC 22000 regulatory requirements, housekeeping and health and safety.
Good knowledge of BCEA.
Previous experience of people-management and demonstrated ability in people motivation, organizing and team building.
Solid record of attention to detail and strict adherence to procedures and policies.
Good written and communication skills in English / Afrikaans.
Numerical and analytical skills.
Computer literacy in MS Word / Excel.
Willingness to learn applicable Food Safety (HACCP) procedures, requirements, and company policies.
High level of initiative, plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Willing to work overtime and night shift as and when requested by the company.
Key Performance Areas:
Supervising employees in the manufacturing of food products, ensuring safety, good quality products and productivity.
Production planning & control as per client requirements.
Assist in the control of manufacturing costs of production by decreasing waste and achieving targets.
Adherence to health & safety, quality, food management system, HACCP, and good hygiene & housekeeping practices, to produce a product that is safe for human consumption.
Team management control, disciplinary of staff and reporting any matters to HR or management.
Training and development of production staff both new and existing, overseeing and completing training records.
Responsible to manage and maintain all documents in key process 5 and key process 6 related to production.
Taking responsibility for food safety, where applicable.
Planning – including developing / maintaining a viable plan incorporating hiring, training, capacity modelling, efficiency / yield assumptions, learning-curve, etc.
Develop and recommend improvements of facilities, equipment, procedures, safety, quality, and efficiency.
Monitors usage of utilities to ensure efficiency of operations.
Build quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
Acts as a member of the management team and performs other duties as directed by position or required by any management representative.
Participates in external and in-house training.
Responsible to monitor and verify documentation completed by production employees.
Managing process and material flows.
Administration duties, which includes time and attendance.
Generating action requests when required.
