A private hospital on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal has a vacancy for an Operations Manager reporting to the Chief Executive Officer

Main purpose of the job
• To manage the day to day operations of the hospital including nursing services and general management


Education, experience and competencies
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Degree/Diploma: General Nursing Science with Midwifery
• Post Basic Diploma in Nursing Administration
• One year Post Basic Diploma in a Speciality : Critical Care, Trauma/Emergency Theatre
• A relevant Financial Management qualification will be advantageous
• 3 – 5 years' experience in a senior management capacity
• Above average working knowledge of principles used in finance, pharmacy, supply chain management, and labour relations
• Proof of registration with SANC and other Professional bodies
• Computer proficiency in MS Office


Main duties/responsibilities

• General managerial responsibilities and management of staff
• Ensure application of policies for the operation within the hospital industry
• To ensure that all documentation required is correctly completed and appropriately filed and distributed
• To ensure adherence to all relevant statutes, stator bodies, rules and regulations, disciplinary code, and staff employee manuals
