RedCat Recruitment is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced PROJECT CHEMIST for a large concern – position based in the Hammarsdale area, KwaZulu-Natal.

REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12.

3 – 4 year degree or equivalent in Analytical Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

Valid driver’s license / own reliable vehicle.

Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet).

To provide a full range of chemical and process technical support for the customer, sales and internal projects and initiatives in line with global and company strategies to achieve sustainable growth in sales and profitability.

1-3 years previous experience in a similar position is required.

Experience in the paper industry will be advantageous.

Provide technical support to the sales team to support the execution of the company’s sales and marketing strategies in order to meet shareholder requirements and fund growth of the company.

Effectively manage a portfolio of assigned projects and resources to support sales initiatives.

Provide technical support to the sales team during product trials.

Use chemical analyses to identify solutions for customer processes.

Support and improve SHERQ compliance to deliver on the targeted sales at the lowest possible risk to the company.

Strong laboratory practices skills.

Advanced knowledge of chemical, mathematical and process related calculations.

Problem solving and risk assessment skills.

Advanced knowledge of analytical and applied chemistry.

Good understanding of laboratory safety policies and procedures.

Ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
