Construction Project Manager

Our client a leading national Facilities Management concern seeks to appoint a Project Manager with previous project management experience within the Construction industry. The successful incumbent will be required to manage the planned, as well as reactive maintenance projects in a building / cluster of buildings and ensure that all Projects are completed within time, cost and quality parameters.

• Building Science / Project Management / Construction Management or similar technical tertiary qualification.
• Two years practical technical experience in the construction industry.
• Experience within the Facilities Management field is preferable
• Solid Project management skills with a solid understanding of Project management principles, procedures and processes.
• Solid Report preparation and business writing / report writing skills
• Budgeting and financial management of each project
• Sound People management and leadership skills
• Strong IT Literacy – MS Office, MS Excel.

Project Management & Contract Administration
• Act as on-site project manager
• Follow all industry standards with regards to contract administration
• Verify final accounts
• Issue payment certificates to contractors
• Finalise scope of works with client
• Manage project time, cost and quality control
• Follow all industry standards with regards to contract administration
• Manage tenant installations
• Manage maintenance projects and upgrades, including specifications
• Compile reports for Senior Management
• Coordinating and processing Public Liability and Property Damage Claims

Forecasting & Scheduling
• Resource management of reactive maintenance
• Resource management of preventative maintenance
• Milestone management
• Conduct building inspections in accordance with inspection programme
• Conduct technical assessments to define scope of works
• Advise client as to when refurbishments need to be carried out
• Schedule proactive maintenance as per service contracts
• Conduct monthly meetings with service providers
• Set and manage site specific KPI’s

Budget & Expense Control
• Assessments and budgets
• Input on annual expense budget
• Management reports on budgets, expenditure
• Benchmarking of industry standards and rates

People Management & Contractor Management
• Performance management
• Training & Development (where applicable)
• Manage service & maintenance contractors and liaise with management of contractors
• Initiate and facilitate regular contractor meeting

Asset & Inventory Management
• Manage asset administration of client(s)
• Manage short term insurance claims of client & participate in annual review
• Co-ordinate assets life cycle management (procurement & furniture store).
