Project Manager – Medical Scheme – Pretoria – 12 Months Contract

The Project Manager will report directly to the Senior Manager: Project Management and forms part of the Office of the Chief Operations Officer. The position is a fixed term contract for a period of 12 months based at Head Office in Pretoria.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
? Effective application of project and programme management principles to initiate, plan, direct and manage projects including the development of critical project documentation
? Work with the project portfolio team to analyse business/project requirements to propose and recommend procedures that suit business environment and achieve the project objectives
? Manage the project team’s performance in the implementation of tasks and the delivery of all projects on schedule and within the approved scope and quality standards
? Manage communication, status reporting and escalation of issues that cannot be resolved by the team
? Facilitate good governance over projects, including project governance documentation, project meetings, risk management, issue management and quality assurance
? Facilitate the planning and effective utilization of project resources
? Facilitate the effective closure of projects, including project close out meetings/sessions, project close-off reports, lessons learned and transitional planning

Qualification, skills and competencies requirements are:
? At least a 3 year Degree and/or Diploma at an NQF level 6 in Project Management/Business Administration/ Information Technology
? At least 5 years’ experience in Project Management with at least 3 years of experience at a Management Level
? CAPM/PMP certification will serve as an advantage
? Hands-on experience project studies and implementation
? Proficiency in project management methodologies (PMBoK, Agile etc.)
? Communication skills and analytical expertise
? Knowledge of the South African medical scheme industry
? Good ability to actively maintain relationships with service providers
? Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license and own vehicle and be willing to travel at short notice
