Project Manager (Telecoms - Fibre Optic Infrastructure)
(Level | Intermediate)
A telecoms giant is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the design, execution and development of fibre optic infrastructure projects. You will ensure successful delivery of key initiatives including the overall coordination, implementation, execution, reporting and completion of several underlying and interconnected projects.
Minimum requirements include but are not limited to the following:
• A Project Management qualification such as PMP/Prince/Agile certification with suitable experience in implementing is strongly preferred.
• FOA Certification
• 4 - 6 years of demonstrated success in project management capacity within a technical setting for business applications.
• Knowledge/Experience of Telecommunications industry (non negotiable)
• Superior understanding of fiber optic products and industry trends and standards, fiber optic infrastructure design on OSP and ISP level and fiber optics and the various deployment methods – (Splicing, OTDR, Blown fiber)
• Experience with CAD and Visio software applications for engineering design, workflow and order management.
• Good understanding of software development models including Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, reporting and budgeting skills.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Monitoring and controlling Project activities to ensure successful delivery of the project objectives within budget, scope, time and quality according to plan.
• Defining and executing project scope
• Utilizing a project management tool for planning, execution, monitoring, deployment, controlling and reporting on project status, progress and financial metrics (costs and expenses incurred to date.
• Optimizing the effective utilization of project resources throughout the project life cycle.
• Conducting risk assessments and device contingency planning
• Managing project financials (forecast vs. actual)
• Managing project stakeholder relationships
