Quality Assurance Manager -Rail Engineering

Will be responsible for all Quality Assurance will coordinate work systems to ensure that the services of the company meet the highest quality standards and that the working conditions of the company are favourable and safe.

Will Advise line management in Factory, Office and on Site of health, safety, quality and environmental matters and manage this process to ensure all advice is incorporated into day to day processes and operations.

QUALIFICATIONS: Tertiary qualification related to quality assurance and management;
ISO 9001 Quality Management compliance training and or experience/Internal Auditing;
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint);

EXPERIENCE: Minimum Experience 10 years in the relevant field, specifically capital projects, rail rolling stock experience preferred;
Must Know and understand Client and Project quality requirements and specifications;
Must have worked as a QC Manager for at least the past 5 years or had QC personnel reported to you as a project leader/ overseer;
Worked with national and international quality codes (ISO 9001 preferred);
Experience as a lead auditor;
Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Assure that supplier corrective and preventative action plans are developed and implemented effectively.

Duties will include continuous improvement of the Quality Assurance Management programme and systems;
Preparation of the complete quality assurance plan for each product;
Will develop inspection sheets for each outgoing and incoming product for quality technicians to update;
Work with operations and warehouse manager to develop processes for managing quality snags and documentation;
Assist in retaining all current quality accredited suppliers and work towards the attainment of new quality accredited suppliers;
Ensure the control and monitoring of measuring and test equipment, and that all measuring equipment are within their calibration schedule or status;
Ensure that, on each project an inspection schedule is formulated & implemented by the Quality Engineering Technicians;
Manage the Quality Engineering Technicians so it is possible for them to achieve their goals and meet project quality targets and requirements;
Evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings and design comments for sound engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria, and recommend approval or disapproval;
Develop, maintain and implement the required legal and Quality standards as well as ISO 9001 in line with world class requirements
Conduct internal and Supplier quality audits and compile accurate quality control reports;
Liaise with Quality Engineering Technicians and Production Supervisors to plan for daily in-process and final inspections;ยท
Complete monthly management and quality status report;
Identify and investigate specific quality problems;
Review quality records and registers to identify recurring problem areas (Trends);
Manage and assist in project quality audit programs;
Evaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection results;
Monitor and Close out CAR's and Non-conformances, where applicable;
Managing and taking responsibility for all NCR processes
Managing and taking responsibility for all ECR processes and document control
