QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

PURPOSE:
To lead and manage quality systems that assures first time right quality in the hands of our customers and consumers.


ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Lead Quality improvement through strong site leadership, collaboration and influence
Environmental scan is conducted at site level and used in the implementation of the quality strategy
Develop and drive a positive site quality culture of “First Time Right”
Operate strategically and systemically to design customised solutions
Ensure that the reputation of the company is indivisible through immaculate governance systems
Devise and establish quality systems specific to the site within the frameworks of corporate governance systems and aligned to global customer requirements.
Develop site procedures, standards and specifications for AT, relating to the relevant QMS within relevant corporate / OEM framework
Strategically review customer requirements and develop capabilities to respond accordingly
Drive a lean culture of reducing cost of poor quality while increasing productivity
Motivate and inspire teams to perform to meet quality standards through HR infrastructure
Conduct continual environmental scan with intent to improve
Manage and drive competency and capability programs for quality improvement

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
·         Relevant Degree in biological / food sciences.
·         Previous experience and management of globally recognised Quality Management Systems and Food Safety Management Systems
·         Strong ability to lead and manage teams
·         8 year’s relevant experience in FMCG environment (with 2 at a leadership level).
·         Experience in alcoholic beverage industry will be strong advantage.
·         Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
·         Expert functional problem solving capability and the facilitation of problem-solving processes
·         Planning and project management skills
·         Strong statistical competence

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement quality assurance systems and management for the region aligned to central company governance frameworks
·         Implement company quality management vision and strategy for site
·         Implement and lead integrated quality management systems
·         Develop and drive a strong quality culture across the company site
Lead and assure integrity of quality management systems
·         Design LEAN quality systems i.e. Quality at source; Waste etc.
·         Successfully implement initiatives through effective project management
·         Assure governance and integrity of results
·         Lead measurement management
·         Analyse data to identify quality and food safety risks
·         Lead site wide quality problem solving and improvement initiatives
Protect organisation reputation and product integrity
·         Align all relevant site stakeholders to policy and legislation
·         Manage trade quality function at warehouse, dc and tx
·         Manage supplier quality management programme for site
Manage human resources in the department
·         Manage the development of relevant staff competencies
·         Ensure a healthy industrial relations climate
·         Attract, recruit and retain talent
·         Manage own performance in a way that shapes a high performance, high engagement culture
·         Manage performance of others in a way that shapes a high performance, high engagement culture
·         Demonstrate behaviour which builds, maintains or enhances company reputation
Manage budgets and costs in the department
·         Develop and submit the annual business plans/budgets for approval (including capex)
