We are looking for an experienced QA Tester to join our team for a 4-month contract, starting in June.

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Senior Business Analyst, the Quality Assurance Tester is responsible for understanding the primary outcomes of the project and ensuring all requirements have been met.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fully understand the project requirements.
- Check the work against the acceptance criteria for each requirement.
- Maintain JIRA.
- Create new tickets in the case where defects need to be logged or sub-tasks needs to be created.
- Create new tickets in the case where there is/was no previous ticket for the specific scenario/case study.
- Adding acceptance criteria to tickets, if the above is applicable.
- Test each task as it is completed.
- Make sure the task adheres to UI design.
- Meets acceptance criteria and requirements.
- Quick and clear communications and escalation of issues.
- No story will pass QA that does not meet design and requirement specifications.
- Document defects, using a bug tracking system and report defects to developers.
- Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content.
- Create or maintain databases of known test defects.
- Plan test schedules in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
- Participate in design reviews and planning meetings, to provide input on functional requirements, designs, schedules or potential problems
- Review documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, completeness or to mitigate risks and raise any concerns with the relevant party i.e. BA, PM, Developer.

EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, SPECIFICATION AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Pursuing a Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Web Development, Commerce, Quality Assurance or other equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in Quality Assurance, testing websites and/or mobile applications.
- Thorough, precise, pays attention to detail.
- Demonstrates an understanding of analytical and problem-solving techniques.
- Self-directed team player who thrives in a continually changing environment.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to clearly communicate software issues and behaviour to development teams.

- Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodology.
- Knowledge of some Quality Assurance principles, methods and processes.
- Able to test in a fast-paced environment with both long and short development cycles.
- Knowledge of QA testing methodologies and the test life-cycle.
- Experience working with bug management systems, e.g. JIRA.
