POSITION: QC Clerk
SITE: WESTERN CAPE

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Proactively prevent defects with a focus on the processes used to make products.
Create and encourage awareness of the importance of quality control.
Improve development and test processes so that defects do not arise when products are being developed.
Evaluate manufactured products and systems to verify quality & performance standards.
Advise and assist production personnel with operations to ensure that products comply to company and customer specifications.
Provide Production, Sales and Customer Service departments with QA & FSS information upon request.
Ensure and continuously improve customer satisfaction.

REPORTING TO: SHEQ Manager

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure quality at the source by verifying conformance to specifications.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping to optimise on resource utilisation.
• Collect and record information needed for reports - describing results, needed for decision making purposes.
• Recommend necessary corrective actions, based on inspection and test results.
• Contribute to any other possible quality improving efforts.

Duties include:
• Board sample collection and testing
• Box Compression testing
• Colour verification with Spectrophotometer
• Data Capturing
• Housekeeping

KEY COMPETENCIES / SKILLS
• Ability to converse well in English
• Computer literate
• Must be able to work under pressure and be a problem solver
• Must be flexible and able to work extended hours as well as weekends

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
• Matric
• Previous experience in a Corrugated Environment will be to an advantage
• Experience with quality testing instruments
• Attention/ eye for detail
• Computer literate
• Ability to converse in English
