VACANCY –Quality Inspector

Our client in Durban is looking for a Quality Inspector

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that line clearance is conducted with job changes
Ensure that all inferior product is placed on hold
Conduct visual inspections as per roving inspection sheets
Report all quality related issues to the lab inspectors and team leaders
Submit samples to lab Inspectors for testing
Issue and collect samples packs to production
Conduct random box audits on line
Validate leak testers on line and report problems to team leaders
Go / no gauge checks
Weight validation checks
Wall thickness testing
Compile internal corrective actions where required
Filing of roving inspection sheets
Ensure that factory is generally kept neat and tidy.
Ensure that walkways are not blocked.
Assist in cleaning around the machines.
Report any housekeeping issues to the Team Leader.
Make sure that you use protective clothing and equipment as required.
Carry out all reasonable work related instructions issued by an authorised superior.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Diploma/ Degree
5 years basic production experience in an FMCG environment to ensure familiarity with OHS Act and food hygiene requirements.
At least 1 years’ experience working in a laboratory requiring the use of standard measurement equipment.
Inspectors require good eyesight and may not be colour blind as quality inspections include visual colour checks
