Job Purpose:
Managing a Quality Assurance or Quality Control team. Being responsible for the overall quality of products released by the company. Performing tests to verify quality of products before they hit the market. Management of SHERQ portfolio
Job Duties:
? Monitoring the production line and doing periodic Quality Control checks
? Implementing improvements to production processes that lead to overall increases in product quality
? Working together with project leaders to discuss solutions to quality issues
? Satisfying customer expectations about the product's quality
? Creating production plans for new products to guarantee quality from stage one
? Scheduling project plans along with the project team to fit project deadlines
? Writing reports on design, pre-production, and production to check on the quality status of the product at all stages of production and inform the rest of the production team
? Complying with ISO accreditation requirements
? Auditing materials provided by suppliers to assure quality before incorporation into the product
? Assessing the product's quality by testing for a range of features and seeing how the product performs under stresses like impact, temperature, humidity, etc.
? Investigating causes of quality problems and proposing solutions
? Training new Quality Control employees
? Utilising extensive knowledge of the product's inner workings to diagnose problems
? Continuing education on newly developing Quality Control techniques
? Maintenance of HACCP System.
? Maintaining GMPs; Food Safety Standard Operating Procedures
? Quality Controller staff management
? Log and Report CAR’s, NCR and Handling of Customer complaints
? Conduct Internal GMP Audit
? Verification of QMS check Sheet;
? Quality Review meetings organising and compile Monthly Quality Reports.
? Identifying operators/shop-floor quality training requirements as well as conducting the training where possible/necessary & record keeping
? In Process inspection checks verification and sign off, of QCs and Production supervisors check lists
? Verification of inspection for receiving of raw material, and COAs compiling
? Dispatch inspection validation; Issuing of COCs
? Compelling standard operating procedure’s
? Review inspection of pest control system with service provider, checking the pest sign Log record and bait station
? Conducting food safety training to employees, including Induction of New employees
? Inform management daily on product compliance and risk identified
? Review quality packs and ensure that correct labels are used;

? Capture incidents/ accidents on achiever and, ensure that an incident investigation is completed and reported to COIDA (Dept. of Labour).
? Prepare and close off audit findings

? Inspections of fire equipment, first aid boxes and everywhere
? Environmental Management
? Capture and report IOD’s
? Compile Induction Training Presentations
? SOP Trainings
? Compile all the site SHE procedures and work documents
? Arrange for SHE external Trainings
? Ensure that appointments are valid and the appointee is competent
? Enforce access control procedures with security
? Emergency preparedness by drafting procedures and arrange 6 monthly mock drills
? Ensuring that the first aid equipment is checked and updated in the first aid box according to the checklist.
? Ensure medical screening identified by the occupational health practitioner is scheduled for each applicable employee.
? Schedule occupational hygiene surveys with the applicable service provider
? Manage SHE reports, SHE Trainings, IOD’s, fire and first aid equipment
Quality Manager Skills and Qualifications:
