QUALITY TECHNICIAN (candidates must currently reside in PE or Uitenhage or perhaps East London but willing to relocate at own expense)

A: SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
• Ensure production release is done correctly to prevent customer complaints and scrap
• Ensure that all effective documentation is in use. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance.
• Provide feedback to Operators/ Team Leaders/ inspectors and Staff regarding concerns/ improvements.
• Analyze the following measurables, and implement improvements / corrections:
o Customer Complaints
o External PPM
o Internal PPM
o Rework as % of Sales
o Scrap as a % of Sales
• Manage the corrective action procedure and assess completion dates and effectiveness corrective actions.
• Co-ordinate the activities of the Final / Receiving Inspectors. Conduct regular audits to ensure the effectiveness of all the Inspectors.
• Assisting the Quality Engineer with day to day duties.

B. PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE
• 2-3 years plus experience in a position such as a Quality Inspector/technician
• 3-4 years plus experience in an Operator position with excellent work standards and knowledge of the line and part.
• Quality exposure in the automotive production environment essential.
• A valid driver’s license would be required
QUALIFICATIONS
• Matric or equivalent AND any Technical / Engineering tertiary qualification (Quality or Industrial Engineering with Quality functions)
