Regional IT Executive
Sandton, Johannesburg

Drive the Universal GTI strategy into all the companies in the region (Gauteng), providing strategic input, aligning change (local, regional versus central) and overseeing IT operations.
Sustain regional capabilities to enable sufficiency, increasing stability and management of risk as key custodian of the GTI relationship.
Provide the Executive: Group Shared Services with strategic insights relating to both run and change activities and drive out IT strategy into the region.
Accountabilities include establishing and maintaining business relationships at Executive level, as well as engagement on all levels throughout the region.

• The incumbent will also be responsible for the following functions in the Gauteng region:
o Execution of the GTI strategy,
o Project Management oversite to all the business units in the region,
o Localization of GTI Architecture to all the business units in the region,
o Representative of IT Operational delivery,
o As well as client satisfaction for all services delivered.
• This position will report to GTI Executive Head of Shared Services.
• Strategically position and promote GTI in the region with key stakeholders in terms of GTI brand, services and governance.
• Alignment, execution and translation of the GTI strategy in the region.
• Responsible for ensuring that GTI services are delivered to the requirements of the regional based business.
• Management and control of the Region’s Technology services.
• Functionally ensure that GTI enables business in the region to achieve their overall objectives.
• Monitor maintain and report on GTI regional functions in line with GTI compliance requirements and good governance.
• Ensure continuous improvement through innovation and improved work efficiencies across GTI, by providing input into the GTI strategy and service offering.
• Implementation and maintenance of strong financial measures for services delivered to the region. Liaising with businesses in Gauteng on GTI operational and strategic activities.
• Monthly reporting to GTI Management, on Gauteng regional activities (this includes inter alia, business migrations, technology refresh activities, SLA measurements, budgeting cycles, projects for the Gauteng region, etc.)
• Supervision of regional staff in a matrix organization.
• Direct management responsibility for desktop support services in the Gauteng region.
• Managing and reporting of High Priority incidents/changes/issues with clients in the Gauteng region.
• Maintaining quality control procedures for GTI in the Gauteng region.
• Coordinate problems and troubleshooting (problem solving).
• GTI project delivery oversight for the Gauteng region.
• Support/compliment the DR and WAR coordination, planning and management for the Gauteng region.

• Dotted Line Functional Reporting to relevant Central GTI
• Direct reporting line to Executive Head of Shared Services
• Responsible to represent GTI Exco members in the Gauteng region
• Accountability to represent Cape Town Exco in the North
• Building and maintaining strong business relationships across the group
• Oversee the delivery of Outsourced Vendors in the Gauteng region. Ownership remains with the functional owner of the service. Role is to enforce service delivery and escalate to the relevant GTI owner where applicable.
• Localize and execute on GTI strategies within the Region
• Take responsibility for all regional activities, liaising with Centers of Excellence within GTI where required.
• Significant travel to ALL the businesses in the region.
• Project ownership of all key projects in the region across all customers.
• Maintain close relationship with GTI functional owners and skills
• Represent and promote GTI Deliverables/Services to businesses in the region
• Represent and promote IT Governance requirements to all clients in the region: e.g. ensuring compliance to POPI standards and compliance of IT Security

Qualifications, Experience Knowledge and Skills

• Appropriate IT qualification combined with 10 to 12 years relevant work experience
• ITIL Certification V3/4 essential
• At least 6 years of senior management experience in an IT Account Executive role, including services, client satisfaction and human capital management
• Knowledge of infrastructure platforms/service management processes/applications (end to end understanding of the IT environment/ Security/Governance)
• Commercial experience, including billing models/budget setting and budget control
• Project management experience
• Experience in Client Interaction at an Executive level
• Experience in service delivery through multiple cross functional teams, in a matrix managed structure
• Direct line Management experience, as well as matrix management will apply
