The Ideal candidate will provide support and direction to a team of technical sales representatives within the region to deliver high-quality service and support the client base and build and maintain relationships with distributors/farmers.
The Regional Manager will have great experience managing/supervising a team, come from an agronomy background, and have a strong sense of initiative. The successful candidate must be from the region and have excellent knowledge of the various crops, areas, and climate in order to build, develop and grow this area to reach success.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Providing quality mentorship for the technical sales representatives in the region while always upholding the company’s values.
• Achieving the Region’s revenue and profitability for the company's products as they are sold within the region.
• Establishing an environment and foundation for future sales growth.
• Training sales representatives to sell value and solutions to the customers.
• Directing the selling activities within the Region, inclusive of resource deployment and customer interactions.
• Prioritizing effectively and in accordance with corporate objectives.
• Responsible for the Region’s forecasting and sales tracking – reporting back to management.
• Setting the vision for the Region and developing and adhering to a business plan to attain this vision.
• Evaluating market trends and gathering competitive information, identifying trends that affect current and future growth of regional sales and profitability.
• Extensive travel in the region will be required
Desired Experience & Qualification
• Agriculture qualification (advantageous)
• Previous experience as an Agronomist (advantageous)
• Minimum 2 years of managing /supervising a team
• Sales experience
• Oral, written, telephone, and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate with knowledge of all Microsoft Office Programs.
• Decision-making skills: He/she should have the ability to analyze information and evaluate results in order to make the best decision in solving problems to provide direction, support, and assistance to the region
• Planning skills: The manager should have the ability to develop specific plans and goals to help in accomplishing tasks efficiently
• Motivating skills: The regional manager should be able to encourage and build team spirit among staff, bringing about mutual respect and cooperation
• Ability to identify new opportunities and exploit them to the benefit of the company
• Familiar with marketing techniques and concepts relevant to the agriculture sector
