COMMUNITY NURSE
Stepping Stone Hospice & Care Services is an independent non-profit, community-driven organization and the first-ever service of its kind in the Greater Alberton area of Ekurhuleni. We provide specialist palliative care to people experiencing the impact of life-threatening illnesses.
We have a vacancy for a registered nurse with a genuine desire to make a difference, working within the area of palliative and end of life care within a hospice environment. The Community Nurse will work under the leadership of the Care Services Manager, and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients on an intermittent visiting basis.
Applicants will need a high level of clinical expertise to advise and support patients with palliative care needs. You will be required to work independently and have excellent communication skills, be able to organize your own workload but also work as part of a team. Palliative experience will be advantageous.
Applicants will be SANC registered, Registered Nurses looking for a professional challenge, who enjoy working in new ways and can contribute palliative care skills to our muli-proffesional team. Applicants must have own reliable vehicle as well as a valid driver’s license.
Hours: Full time - Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm. On call – alternative weekends and nights. The RN on call provides telephonic support to patients and families after hours and home visits when necessary during daytime.
