Key Purpose:

Reliability Strategy Superintendent is responsible and accountable for formulating, planning, developing, implementing and monitoring Reliability centred maintenance (RCM), Risk based inspection (RBI), Reliability Instrumented Systems (RIS) and Root cause analysis (RCA) through Experienced and qualified engineers. Develop strategies for problem solving through all MPC as part of the Reliability Performance Department activity with the objective of achieving safe and reliable plants that leads to cost control, customer satisfaction, and superior quality. The primary role of the Superintendent, Reliability Strategy is to lead Team of reliability engineers and administer & support the RCM effort from a management standpoint. Provide high quality problem solving consultancy services and drive training and knowledge sharing between all MPC plants to enhance employees’ knowledge and skills about RCM. RBI, RIS & RCA methodology and problem solving culture change that will positively impact MPC safety & reliability performance.

Key Accountabilities:

• Superintendent, Reliability Strategy will head the Reliability Strategy section and will report to Manager, Reliability Performance department. He shall delegate the parts of the work to the Sr. Engineers and other staff as per the organization chart.
• Ensure implementation of the Reliability tools and techniques (RCM, RCA, RIS, RBI, FMEA, LTA etc.) as per Reliability Procedures and applicable Sub Procedures).
• Familiar using RCA techniques, Barrier analysis, Bayesian inference, Causal factor tree analysis, Change analysis, Current Reality Tree, Failure mode and effects analysis, Fault tree analysis, 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagram, Pareto analysis, RPR Problem Diagnosis.
• Prepare annual statistics reports based on actual investigations findings, analyse the common causes between them and develop short and long term plans for elimination. Prepare a proactive plan to identify and prevent potential system and human problems.
• As a team leader, to act as Facilitator, listening to all members and using owns knowledge and competence to draw correct inferences and put forth fault tree analysis, fish bone diagrams and guide members.
• Provide problem solving expertise for all investigation team in MPC Plants.
• Assist in developing root cause analysis training and awareness program and suggest potential improvement to RCA.
• Help in identifying the operating context of the machinery, and write a Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and apply the "RCM logic", which helps determine the appropriate maintenance tasks for the identified failure modes in the FMECA.
• Monitor RCM, RBI, RIS & RCA key performance indicators & suggest potential improvements to the RCA, RIS and RBI.
• Monitor RCM strategies for reporting, classifying, investigating, analysing and developing corrective actions for all safety, environmental, reliability, quality and other problems to prevent them from reoccurrence.
• Periodical monitoring, review, corrective actions and improvement of all the Maintenance Strategy activities using the feedbacks from users.
• Prepare annual statistics reports based on actual investigations findings, analyse the common causes between them and develop short and long term plans for elimination. Prepare a proactive plan to identify and prevent potential system and human problems.
• Formulate Root Cause Analysis strategy for reporting, classifying, investigating, analysing and developing corrective actions for all safety, environmental, reliability, quality and other problems to prevent them from reoccurrence.
• Conduct periodic audit as per asset management procedures of all components of a world class Reliability program. This can be done every 6 months internally, and every 2 years by an external agency. The result should be announced and circulated as Reliability scorecard which can be graded as world class if the score is > 80%.
• Benchmarking Reliability and Asset Performance with other peers in Saudi and outside.
• Provide required information and monthly status reports to Asset Reliability Steering committee as detailed in Procedures.
• Identify and select applicable KPIs for reliability measurement. If required, request Planning department for making additional KPIs giving details and justification.
• Take actions to inculcate the culture of Reliability among all levels of staff in all concerned departments. Suitable methods and training to be devised and used for this purpose.
• Regular contract with plant concerned Operations & Maintenance Section Heads and Engineers.
• Works according to well-designed procedures, clearly set procedures or craft standards.
• Work is subject to detailed checks at regular intervals.


Skills and Qualifications:

• University Degree in Engineering / Science with More than 8 years hands on experience in fertilizer industry with perfect background on Reliability Methodologies (RCM, RBI, RIS and RCA) implementing to develop optimum maintenance strategy for plant assets
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Managerial role in Asset Management/ Reliability or Plant Maintenance role in related industry.
• Strong leadership qualities and team building skills to drive and liaise with people at all levels.
• Ability to generate reports and analysis for the management.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Minimum of fifty (50) investigations conducted as member, leaders or facilitator.
• Have the in-depth knowledge and competency of RCM,RBI, RIS & RCA concepts.
