Job purpose
The incumbent would be responsible to provide administrative support with legal and regulatory compliance regarding food safety regulations.
Duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Senior management commitment: Attend meetings and follow up on new or existing actions
· Risk management: Attend risk management team meetings. Compile risk assessments. Revise risk assessments. Compile product flow
diagrams.
· Document Control
· Record Keeping
· Internal Audits – as per schedule
· Corrective & Preventative Action – root cause analysis
· Traceability
· Withdrawals / Product recalls
· Equipment – regular inspections
· Maintenance – Issue maintenance job cards
· Housekeeping & cleaning – Issue cleaning schedules
· Product contamination control – Keep registers, inspections as scheduled
· Waste & waste disposal – Waste disposal diagrams, removal by service providers, waste disposal certificates
· Pest Management – Manage service provider, inspection reports
· Calibration – keep list up to date, calibration certificates annually
· Product inspection, testing - daily inspections & reporting
· Non-conforming product – reporting & investigation
· Training – new workers, as per schedule, training records, keeping up to date
· Assisting during audits
· Ensuring maintenance of the food safety program (BRCGS Standard for Packing Materials Issue 6)
· Efficiently utilizing all resources to meet customer, company, and legislative requirements to drive a culture of continuous improvement
· Managing & maintaining internal audit systems (internal processes, suppliers, and outsourced service providers)
· Ensuring that all appropriate records are kept for traceability throughout the company
· Facilitating regular internal quality and food safety training for staff
· Support the development of efficiency programs within the risk management department
· Management of customer complaints system
· Monitor & implementing legislative upgrades that is aimed at improving the environmental impact of the industry
· Any other instruction issued by management regarding product safety issues.
Qualifications
· Grade 12 + Office Admin Certificate / Diploma
· BRCGS Certification Issue 6 in Packaging Materials (non-neg)
· BRCGS Internal Auditor Certificate (non-neg)
· Health & Safety Certification
· Computer lit (MS Office, internet, e-mail)
· Strong Administrative skills
· Efficient, organised, can work to deadlines, work independently
