This post is based in Wynberg in Johannesburg
Investigation of administrative fraud and all acts of crime in the business.
Identify, utilize and recommend appropriate data-related system resources to enhance investigative efforts and fraud detection and/or prevention.
Raise awareness amongst the Area/ Store Management and Staff in the region about crime, vigilance, trends of incidents and outcomes of investigations.
Ensure cost effective maintenance of Operational equipment applied in the Business.
Investigation of all Operational, Risk/Health and safety related reports in the Business.
Review and analyse all losses to determine if they are controllable or uncontrollable losses with recommendation to prevent further losses.
Engage with Operations to ensure a clear understanding of the Business challenges, requirements and areas of risk.
Engage with third party Security Service Provider/s and investigation vendors to ensure the reduction in stock, Company assets.
Conduct risk assessment and suggest/implement corrective actions to reduce exposure to risk of any possible loss to the Business.
Conduct random lifestyle audits to ensure timeous intervention to prevent syndicate activities.
Conduct all administrative and/or operational related investigations which may require your attention from time to time.
Conduct Risk Control and Operational audits on all related system, Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance.
Identify, suggest and implement structures daily to curb shrinkage in your Stores.
Review and analyse sales figures/reports.
Investigate all losses identified or brought to my attention.
Demonstrate sound judgement and decision making in the context of regulatory requirements, policies and industry best practices.
Manage myself to ensure that deliverables are in support of the business strategy.
Regularly review the competence levels of third-party provider employees to ensure business requirements are met.
Attend Store openings and closings to monitor effective implementation of procedures.
Compile a weekly Operational and Risk Control Report with ‘Out of line issues” identified at the Stores as well as recommendations on how to improve on the required standard of operations.
Attend to all stock takes in the business with the objective to monitor procedures and to make recommendations on how to improve the process/ stock take results.
Address and report all problems related to the Cash up devices, alarms, all electronic- and physical measures implemented in our business to the service providers.
Communicate and liaise with Operational – and/or Store Management on all loss control related matters on an ongoing basis to ensure a professional relationship is being maintained.
Attend all meetings, disciplinary enquiries, criminal court, CCMA or any such institutes when required.
Ensure that emergency contact detail of the relevant Management is up to date with the alarm service provider/s.
Evaluate the performance of the Regional and Store Managers, utilizing the reports available and set clear objectives to achieve the organization’s directives and benchmarks.
Ensure effective communication, by means of phone calls, written action plans, with an aim to coach and develop the Team.
Recruit passionate and Customer focused staff to develop and succession plan through the business.
Reduce unnecessary costs, through effective rostering - the right people at the right time.
Focus on reducing internal and external shrinkage by ensuring that store managers and staff follow the company security manual and loss prevention best practices.
Always ensure adherence to company policies and procedures and continually keep abreast of changes to these as they occur
Ensure punctuality and accuracy of all paperwork.
Ensure all payroll requests for new staff, changes to employment details and vacancy updates are returned within the set timeframes.
Effectively manage staff holiday/leave requests.
Demonstrated understanding of Customer experience and continually improving this to achieve results.
10+ Years relevant experience in similar roles (Preferably from retail environment)
Relevant tertiary qualification
Fluent in English and Afrikaans
Prepared to travel nationally.
Strong management experience
Proven track record in loss prevention in the retail environment
