Risk Officer (JB1114)
Location: Industria West, Johannesburg
Salary: R25 - 30 000 per month (Total Cost to Company)

Manufacturing company with a national footprint in South Africa is expanding and currently sourcing a Risk Officer with experience implementing Health and Safety in highly technical, industrial environments.

Duties:
• Running improvement projects
• Co-ordinate two-monthly safety meetings.
• Assist in appointment of safety representatives, first aiders and fire fighters in all departments and review and update the file.
• Conduct monthly SHE & Risk Audits and correct all findings in specified period.
• Co-ordinate two evacuations and fire drill exercises per year.
• Update all health and safety files in the factory.
• Compile registers for all safety equipment.
• Ensure all policies and procedures are updated and current.
• Arrange periodical medicals and hearing tests for all staff.
• Investigate and evaluate incidents to determine the root cause.
• Control services on site and relevant documentation.
• Conduct KPI Reporting
• Report writing on project status
• Compile and submit Electricity usage, DIFR, Health and Safety Risk and audit finding reports
• Manage SHE and fire risk audits yearly
• Develop, implement and maintain an effective program and ensure compliance to satisfy the requirements of local legislation.
• Develop systems to ensure all employees comply with all relevant legal safety requirements.
• Always ensure that health and safety is compliant with the occupational health and safety act.
• Identify unsafe acts, conditions and hazards, identify root cause and identify corrective and preventative actions and report to management.

Minimum requirements:
• Applicants must be suitably qualified with a Health and Safety Management Diploma or equivalent
• SAMTRAC Certificate or occupational SHE Training
• First Aid and Fire Prevention Certificate
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
