Our client, who has a branch in Luanda, Angola wants to appoint a Sales Manager looking after the company sales and marketing activities in the country. They supply products, including food, building materials, industrial equipment, chemical products, etc to a range of business concerns in Angola, in particular in the oil and gas industries both onshore and offshore. Our client also offer ship chandling services from both South Africa and France into Angola. The successful candidate would report to the company's General Manager and will be involved with the everyday management of the branch in Luanda as being the right arm of the General Manager supporting him in the sound business running of the company.
The focus will be on Managing the entire sales activity of the company, including: Technical products, lubricants, paints, chemicals products and others; Shipchandling technical request; and External subsidiaries Products & Services (ex SA and France)
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Define and lead the Business Development strategy in Angola
• Lead, develop and mentor a team of 2 sales managers
• Design and develop commercial plans that include sales plans, pricing, business support and onboarding for the products
• Accountable for industry strategy and commercial success
• Provides data-driven action strategies to consistently optimise the commercial performance as well as improving the market share
• Responsible for owning the financial targets and KPIs of the relevant channels
• Work alongside the business in the areas of strategy, account management, sales operations, and the financial goals of the department
• Closing sales and maintaining relationships with key clients by providing support, information, and guidance to internal and external stakeholders
• Working with the sales team to improve customer adoption of services and products
• Managing and monitoring the performance of the department
• Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place to provide reasonable assurance that his department assets are protected and that all financial reporting is prepared in accordance with country standards
• Supervise and participate in the preparation of various financial statements, KPI and reports for company reporting
• Management of local Base (work in order): Stock level Management of Technical products, lead inventories
• Stocks forecasts & renewals
Administration & HR
• Managing Department staff members for their daily tasks (around 10 staffs)
• Ensures the completion of the KPI of his/her team
• In agreement with the GM: participate in recruitment for her/his team, salary changes, contract changes, dismissal, absentee follow-up, or any other HR aspect like annual leaves planning
• Regular and systematic reporting to GM
• Directs and manage internal audits involving the review of administrative controls.
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Sales/Marketing
At least five years’ experience in sales and marketing work in a Southern African country
Must be able to communicate fluently in Portuguese
