Sales Manager, Materials Handling Equipment - Rustenburg - Ref: 1008853-36
Our client is the market leader in slurry handling equipment. They currently have an opportunity for a Sales Manager to effectively recruit, manage and develop a high performing sales team for the region.
The successful incumbent will hold a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following – mechanical, industrial, metallurgical or chemical engineering together with 5-8 years’ experience in sales management, preferably in a manufacturing, mechanical or mineral process equipment environment.
Position details
Achieve regional financial targets per budget, including revenue, margin and working capital.
Implement and manage key sales processes and systems to ensure create a high-performance sales team.
Implement and manage key sales systems including sales force, audits, key account plans, sales war room to develop a high performing sales team.
On the job selling skills coaching of sales team.
Ensure growth of share of wallet for all major customers.
Establish and maintain credibility by having all customer requirements processed, expedited and supplied to comply with promised delivery dates.
Increase customer engagement expanding call rates across the region.
All customer complaints attended to promptly and any cause of premature products failures investigated and solved through liaison with divisional and product managers.
Improve customer centricity by changing from selling products to solutions.
Maintain data on competitors’ / replicators’ equipment and activities (reports to product managers to assist with the determining of future policies and strategies).
Prepare and conduct staff performance reviews with the object of motivating and improving the standard of sales staff performance.
Ensure effective sales administrative procedures by regular interaction between sales and the administrative business process team.
Ensure that integrated solutions (brownfields) is properly embedded into branch and growth in revenue from integrated solutions.
Assist debtors staff to collect payment of outstanding accounts.
Improve cross cell (entire product portfolio).
Sales staff conform to company policies and procedures, includes: sales reports / field product audits / customer complaints.
Month-end sales reporting to be included in branch management report.
Select and recommend products (applications engineering) technical solutions - trouble shooting, increased production throughout, cost saving advice.
Manage tenders and quotations, from quote to order, to delivery.
Liaise with H/O to resolve operational problems and queries.
Ensure adherence to all SHE and housekeeping requirements at all times.
Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times.
Timeously providing reports and data as required.
Rationalisation products and promote new technology for the territory.
Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to.
Drive and promote brownfields approach in the area serviced.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (mechanical / industrial / metallurgical / chemical) or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Minimum Experience:
5-8 years’ experience in a sales management, preferably in a manufacturing, mechanical or mineral process equipment environment.
Ability to read, analyse and interpret technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Must have very good communication skills.
