Sales Representative WC (FSI)

One of our clients, a leading dairy Company, currently has a vacancy available for a Sales Representative. They are based in the Northern Suburbs. The geographical area of responsibility will be Cape Town and the surrounding area.

Overview of position:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the sales on cheese/butter products within the food services/wholesale/independent retail and manufacturing industries as well as managing the company’s current customer base. Effective communication with clients and providing excellent client service are crucial for building long term relationships. It will also be expected from the incumbent to work in conjunction with the Admin Depot Manager, providing support with administrative duties.

Responsibilities:
• Develop effective sales and channel strategies for current and new customers in order to achieve sales volume and profitability goals
• Research and analyse sales and business opportunities
• Reach or exceed monthly sales targets
• Weekly feedback/reporting on sales progress and issues as well as looking for new opportunities and keeping tabs on market conditions and competitor activities
• Maintain a regular cycle with regards to calling on allocated customer base
• Negotiate prices/deals with customers
• Managing the relationships with agents/distributors
• Managing the order and delivery process, by making sure orders are placed on time and within the company’s delivery schedule as well as following up on distribution related issues
• Assist with customer complaints
• Be available to travel as and when required
• Be available to customers before or after working hours
• Assist the Depot with administrative duties (including stock management, invoicing etc)

Minimum Requirements
• Must have a Grade 12
• Tertiary qualification in Sales/Marketing will be an advantage
• Must be Computer Literate (MS Office Packages)
• Experience on the ERP Software, Syspro, will be beneficial
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a Sales Representative
• Relevant experience within the Food Service Industry will be an advantage
• Must have a proven track record of sales
• Must have strong cold calling and networking experience
