Engage with internal Rest of Africa (RoA) valuations team, RoA Finance Actuary, in-country actuarial and finance teams, Group Actuarial, Namibia Appointed Actuary, Product Solutions and Balance Sheet Management.
• Monthly Reporting – Produce and analyse financial results (IFRS, VNB and APE) for RoA on monthly basis. Analyse key drivers of financial results and deviations from forecasts. Assist with preparation of packs.
• Financial Reporting – Ensure accurate and timeous production of quarterly, interim, and annual financial reporting of key metrics (IFRS profits, MCEV, VNB, SAM and internal capital reporting).
• Board reports – work with Namibia Appointed Actuary in the production of Board and ARCC reports
• Business Planning / Forecasting – Assist Namibia business with production of core projections for producing business plan and ongoing monitoring of RoA Life line of business strategy
• Business support – support the business in maximising growth within a robust risk framework
• Investment mandates – participate, when called upon, in the revision of policyholder investment mandates in line with best practice and changing regulations
• Bonus declarations – produce bonus recommendation documents and ensure that underlying calculations are accurate
• Continuous Improvements – Enhancements of valuation models and processes.
• Projects - Support and lead Namibia actuarial team in the delivery of project objectives e.g., IFRS17 implementation.
• Management of actuarial staff – manage a team of six actuarial staff members including resource allocation, performance appraisal vs scorecard and development plan

• Nearly or newly qualified actuary . Exceptional candidates not meeting this criterion may be considered.
• Substantial actuarial experience.
