We are looking for a well versed SENIOR ADMINISTRATION OFFICER to join a well-established non-profit organisation that focuses on community upliftment in the poverty stricken informal settlements surrounding Johannesburg. The Senior Administration Officer will have to perform administrative, communication, fundraising and marketing duties to support the operations and programme activities of the Company.
The position requires work to be carried out on-site at the Head Office in Midrand and the Community-Based Offices in Lawley. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and there may be the occasional requirement to work on weekends or public holidays. The Senior Administration Officer will have to successfully complete a three month probation period and achieve Key Performance Indicators as set out by the HR & Admin Head before a permanent one year contract will be offered and signed. The annual contract will be renewable should all KPI’s be met.

Duties include but not limited to:
Administration
• Assist with managing front office operations, mail collection and distribution at Head Office
• Assist with managing and overseeing IT systems and equipment required by the Company

Internal and External Communication
• Receiving phone-calls, emails and other forms of internal and external communication
• Schedule notifications to staff and beneficiaries via the Company’s SMS Portal

Fundraising & Marketing
• Contribute to the development of sound relationships with funders, by answering queries, facilitating and accompanying them on project site visits when required, and writing thank you letters

Document & Data Management
• Ensure all documents are filed as hard copies and electronically, particularly training material and learner records, Company contracts, policies and procedures, etc.

Programme Related Support
• Update social media such as Facebook with programme events
Knowledge and Skills required:
• Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Administration related subjects
• At least 3 years supervision or coordinating experience in an NGO
• Strong written and spoken English
• At least one language spoken in the communities in which the Company operates
• Good interpersonal skills
• Advanced computer skills including the ability to use Word, Excel and Powerpoint and to enter data on databases
• Very organised and able to deal with a variety of demands and prioritise own work to meet deadlines
• Detail oriented with effective time management
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Excellent problem solving skills and self-motivated
• Must have a valid South African driver’s license and bank account
Salary: R12,000 CTC
