A non-profit company, providing free, comprehensive health services to communities nationwide is recruiting for a Senior Asset Officer.

Duties Include:

Asset management
• Develop and maintain an Asset Management Policy and Procedural manual
• Implement an asset management plan, tools and/or systems to track and manage assets and ensure that they are appropriately updated
• Provide regular asset management reports to senior management
• Provide audit support on asset management functions
• Conduct regular site inspections/audit of assets
• Monitor transfer of assets across internal programmes, annual funding cycles, grant periods and between sub-partners
• Collaborate and coordinate with procurement on timeous provision of assets to employees
• Provide leadership and act as the focal person on all asset related queries
• Provide KPI’s to the asset management team and support team development
• Ensure all the assets of the organisation are adequately labelled, bar-coded, insured and tracked. Process any insurance claims for
damaged or lost assets
• Conduct regular analysis to proactively identify potential delinquencies and losses
• Assess risks, development and implement mitigation actions
• Protect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls
• Provide a disposition plan for redundant assets and recommend avenues for assets disposal in line with the funder and environmental
regulations
• Maintain an up to date database of all equipment and assets
• Administer all mobile phones, contracts, sim cards and 3G cards

Fleet management
• Maintain a road worthy fleet (approx. 190 vehicles)
• Register and license new vehicles
• Monitor the fleet to optimize performance
• Review GPS systems to monitor appropriate and reasonable vehicle use
• Provide regular feedback to Programmes on vehicle abuse
• Establish preventive maintenance requirements and coordinate regular service intervals

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (B Comm) in accounting and/or auditing or 4 -5 years experience in a related position; or equivalent combination of
education and experience
• Five years demonstrated experience in asset management / asset control
• Three years experience at managerial level including managing a team of subordinates
• Advanced level computer proficiency in MSExcel and WORD
• Fluency in English and Afrikaans / isiXhosa
• Ability to travel locally
• Valid code 08 driver’s license
• Clear criminal record
