Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant Edgemead Cape Town

Our Food Manufacturer, distributor and exporter is looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant with 5 years with financial management, Payroll, product costing, procurements, and stock control experience.

Salary Highly Negotiable plus medical aid and pension

Min Qualification and requirements
• Financial/Accounting diploma or degree.
• 5-8 years’ experience as a Senior Bookkeeper/ Senior Accountant / Financial Manager coming preferable from FMCG, Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, Retail, Supply Chain and Procurement
• Full Experience with PASTEL, Payroll and SARS Efiling – 110 staff plus groups SARS Efiling
• Excellent in Excel
• Must be good in Costing of Products and other cost center

Responsibilities
• Manage full finance function of the business unit Pastel and Pastel Payroll
• Manage 5 Staff in the financial departments
• Be actively involved in ALL operations of the business
• Budget and Financial Management.
Manage full payroll of the company
• Must be conversant with Income Tax and Statutory taxes and returns incl VAT, PAYE, UIF, and
• Prepare monthly management accounts and ensure that all financial reports are collated timeously and accurately.
• Preparation of statutory financial statements for Trusts up to and including the Balance Sheet, Income and Cash Flow Statements, with supporting working papers and schedules.
• Analyze financial data, project future trends to prepare financial forecasts, and conduct reviews and reconciliations continuously to evaluate possible risk.
• Manage and report on the working capital and cash of the business to ensure that cash is optimized in the business.
• Ensure a robust control environment around the finances of the business unit, with the regular reconciliation of accounting records.
