SUMMARY

Are you passionate about compliance and ensuring businesses adhere to industry regulations? We are looking for a dedicated Senior Compliance Specialist, FAIS and Insurance to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing procedures that align with FAIS and Insurance regulations, helping the business units meet compliance requirements.

Our client is looking to employ as a Senior Compliance Specialist: Fais and Insurance

RESPONSIBILITIES

Developing, implementing and managing Group compliance program
Assist and support the development of Group Compliance Function
Participation in the drafting/ implementation of compliance frameworks, policies, manuals, and technical guidelines
Assist and support the Group Compliance Function for the group and ensuring that compliance risks are appropriately monitored /managed client
Ensure that group adhere to the Governance and Operational Standards for Insurers
Ensure compliance with the various legislative requirements such as Insurance Act and PPR's/Policyholder Protection Rules / Regulations from a Life / Insurance perspective
Ensure overall compliance with the FAIS Act

Relationship with the relevant regulatory
Assist and implement processes around statutory registrations with regulatory bodie/ drafting of business/compliance process descriptions for regulatory registrations
Attend to the completion of regulatory returns such as the conduct of business returns
Assist with handling of complaints from regulators, supervisory bodies, ombud
Input to complaints handling policies

Creating and coordinating proper reporting channels for compliance issues
Ensure CPD requirements are met /updated Fit & Proper Competence register includes CPD Register and attend to queries, Central Representative Register is updated,
Changes of Profiles with the FSCA/monthly call audits
Updating and Monitoring adherence to the Business Continuity plans.
Attend to establishing and maintaining a document library containing relevant version trackers and copies of policies and process documents.
Training and awareness (Coordinating and scheduling required compliance training for staff.

Cultivating a compliance training culture
Advise the relevant business unit management on latest trends withing the compliance environment
Prepare presentations to relevant business units on compliance
Aligned values and self-development

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Matric is a must!
Relevant 3-4 year qualification consisting of Legal or finance.
LLB plus a relevant Compliance Management Certificate preferred
RE 1 and RE5 will be an advantage
5 to 7 years' experience in a Legal/Insurance, and strong knowledge of regulatory compliance guidelines and standards within a financial services sector
