One of our clients, a multi-national dairy and food company has a vacancy for a Senior Developer at their branch in Stellenbosch.

Job Overview:

The purpose of this role is to translate business specification into technical specification and to execute the development.
Interaction with business process owners to develop technical specification.
Assist business process owner to compile functional specifications.
Translate functional specification into technical specification.
Develop and document solution in the appropriate toolset.
Perform application testing.
Handover solutions to application support team.
Perform technical support on solutions.
Setting & enforce standard for development toolset C#.net framework, SSIS, SSRS
Development source control/version control.
Manage and maintain the source control in Microsoft Team Foundation

Duties and Responsibilities:

Demand management
Manage projects and user expectation.
Ownership and management of allocated projects.
Helpdesk Support
Managing helpdesk and projects within the framework provided within IT department.
Set & enforce development toolset standards
.net development
SSRS development
Support application support team in all development projects.
Support on all IT projects, with effective planning of own resource time, to reach project deadlines
Version control
Set and enforce version control standards for .net development
Align applications to adhere to development standards.
Setup a schedule to align application that do not conform to standards
Adhere to change control standards
Technical system documentation
After-hour technical support

Minimum Requirements:

A relevant Information Technology Degree or Diploma
Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in a similar role
Experience in front end, middle tier, and database will be required
Experience in C#.NET development, .NET entity framework and SQL database will be required
Experience in ASS/400 DB2 database will be beneficial
Experience in development methodologies will be beneficial
Project management experience will be beneficial
Excellent knowledge and ability to create SQL queries
Willing and able to travel within Sub Saharan Africa
Able to perform after-hours technical support
