Sovereign Foods, a national supplier of top quality locally produced chicken products to the SA market via various brands, is seeking to employ a Senior Draughtsman for its operations in Uitenhage.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and skilled candidates for this position. The Senior Draughtsman is responsible for managing the drafting of effective designs that meet project requirements, maintaining legislative compliance and quality standards and to conduct project related liaison and administration. An NQF level 5 certificate in Technical Drawing, Mechanical Drawing and Office Practice is required, including Advanced AutoCAD and Inventor and at least 10 years’ draughting experience in an FMCG environment. Previous project management experience will be advantageous.

Results Required:

• Form part of the consultation, review, implementation and design team for capital projects
• Compile company standards and best practices in engineering draughting field
• Maintain legislative compliance, engineering and quality standards
• Schedule and execute planned work
• Consult for production facilities
• Support production facilities to resolve issues
• Offer production technical guidance
• Guide engineers/artisans/draughtsman and ensure knowledge sharing
• Effective management of staff and related processes
• Manage drawing office and related administration and record keeping
