Job Description:

Develop internal financial and accounting policies and procedures such to ensure adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documents are in place and available for independent auditing purposes
Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
Prepare monthly management accounts
Ensure statutory compliance by correct and timeous submission and payment of VAT, Income Tax and PAYE
Prepare all supporting document and information for the annual Audit
Liaise with Audit committee (how)h external auditors
Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for management of cash, debtors and creditors
Develop, implement and maintain procedures around stock and the warehouse function to ensure that stock is accounted for accurately
Act as the financial spokesperson and custodian of the company
Ensure that accurate financials are presented to the Board and attend board meetings
Oversee and contribute to the production of monthly reports and other financial statements for use by Executive Management, the Board of Directors and / or the Audit and Finance Committee
Provide the Board of Directors with post audit feedback, findings and solutions
Report any irregularities or perceived irregularities to the Board for consideration and guidance
Assist in the design, implementation and timely calculations of wage incentives, commission, increases and salaries for staff as well as management bonuses along with Board approval if and when necessary
Oversee the payroll function to ensure that employees are paid timeously and accurately including annual increases, overtime, commission and bonuses
Negotiate and manage employee benefits such as medical aid, group life and retirement savings
Assist with the approval of new employee remuneration packages
Oversee the leave administration function, and ensure that leave is taken in accordance with the leave policy and guidelines
Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation
Prepare annual budget and present to the Board of Directors
Directly assist the CEO and play an important role on the senior level management team on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management
Ensure adequate cash flow to meet organisational needs
Assist department heads with setting of department budgets, as well as the monthly tracking of budgets to actuals
Provide CEO and senior management with an operating budget and work with them to ensure success through cost analyses
Manage project approval by assisting with the development and maintenance for policies and procedures around the project management of jobs
Ensure that signed documents and deposits are received prior to commencement of jobs
Provide guidance to PM’s and RM’s when projects do not run according to plan
Approval of all travel
Assist with the setting of annual revenue budgets
Remain actively involved in weekly revenue forecast/tracker updates; provide guidance to network directors in updating trackers and attend weekly sales meeting
Oversee the job sign-off process, and only recognise revenue when final sign-off of a job is received by a client
Assist with the preparation of monthly revenue report, to report any overs/unders on revenue targets
Oversee the procurement process and ensure that stock is always at the optimal level
Assist in the design and implementation of warehouse policies, processes and procedures
Arrangement of year end functions, social events, etc
Assist with office moves and design/decorating of office spaces
Arrangement of employee uniforms when necessary
Any duties as requested by CEO.
Collate and prepare all financial and related data of business proposed for acquisitions by ODM in order to establish assets, liabilities and commercial potential for Board consideration  

Qualifications:

Completed SAICA approved post graduate diploma in accounting.
Holds the designation of CA(SA)

5 years post article experience in financial manager role
