The successful candidate will be managing a small team of two Accountants and will have a proven track record of at least 10 years’ experience. Coming with management experience, it would be highly advantageous to have around 5 years experience within the Renewable Energy Sector.

Job Description

Accounting and controls
Safeguard that all government, shareholder and lender agreements are complied with at all times
Draw up financial reports, forecasts and budget reports for lenders, shareholders and management
Produce quarterly updates for the financial model and work with lenders to ensure senior loan covenants are complied with
Prepare annual financial and audit statements
May be required to do other ad hoc financial reports for project updates, investor updates ect
Manage treasury and cash as well as the monitoring of foreign exchange
Liaise with service providers
Review and advise on financial matters
Liaise and work with technical officers to ensure financial information is supplied to the technical teams and ensure relevant project information is obtained and that it is done so in a timely manner
Ensure statutory requirements, legislation and tax is complied with
Oversee and control monthly payments to various suppliers or service providers
Manage the GL system, reporting systems, economic development reporting systems, online banking systems and infrastructure.
Enforce and establish procedures and policies to ensure all reporting systems are being utilised correctly
Understand Service Level Agreements and monitor the requirements thereof to ensure payments are in line with agreed costs and services
Understand economic development commitments that were made and ensure companies oblige according to government agreements
Work with contractors and suppliers to ensure information for the economic development reports are obtained timeously and meet with all set out requirements
Create economic development reports for shareholders, lenders and management
Liaise about Economic development and the accompanying audits
Draw up economic development forecasts and budgets to minimise non-compliance
Prepare and submit tax returns
Submit monthly PAYE and PAYE reconciliations
Manage general income tax, VAT and SCT queries
Provide assistance in decision making

Minimum Requirements

CA (SA) with 5 years post article exp / 10 years post graduate exp.
Exp in financial services (projects and new startups / renewable energy companies)
Knowledge of accounting systems such as Great Plains GL
Commercial knowledge of alternative asset classes
Proficient in MS Office
Exp in the Renewable Energy sector is advantageous
Valid driver’s license
