Our Client, one of South Africa’s largest black-empowered JSE Listed resource companies within the Mining Sector, is currently looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer to join their Business Improvement team.


TITLE / ROLE:
• “Senior Industrial Engineer”


LOCATION:
• Lephalale, Limpopo Province


PURPOSE:
• Deliver expert technical support in Industrial Engineering discipline to Operations, Business Improvement, Digital and Business Planning processes.
• Translating Business and Operational issues into tools, models and simulations to enable better decision making
• Supporting multiple areas and multiple projects concurrently through expert technical Industrial Engineering services


AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

1. Best Practice and Knowledge Management
• Intellectual property management and protection
• Create and manage professional networks
• Participate in tertiary educational relationships
• Participate in professional external forums
• Continuously monitors exchange and preservation of information between operations and individuals to facilitate effective knowledge management
• Stay abreast with advances in field of Industrial Engineering and Innovation
• Encourage knowledge sharing and duplication of best practices between Business Unit's (BU’s) and area.


2. Business Performance, Operations and Continuous Improvement

• Technical contribution across multiple Industrial Engineering skills areas
• Continuous scanning of technology advancements to ensure the Company has access to appropriate technology to meet business needs and continues to expand technical base
• Implement appropriate systems to deliver quality engineering outcomes to support projects and Business Units (BU’s)
• Support Business Improvement, Digital and Operational Excellence programme through expert technical Industrial Engineering services
• Statistical analysis of production data to identify certain trends that might influence future business optimisation opportunities at an operational level.


3. Customer and Client Relationship Management

• Support core business by ensuring appropriate stakeholder relationships toward enhancing corporate profile
• Manage internal and external relations, including the interface with external providers or other functions responsible to ensure that business needs are met, and employees are satisfied.


4. Optimisation Support

• Develop and maintain operational costing model to evaluate all production schedules financially, support Business Planning and Capital motivations
• Support the process of evaluating alternative production schedules and equipment utilization philosophies through the use of simulations
• Technically support the process of determining future equipment fleet size requirements
• Technical support and development of tools and techniques to assist Operational Excellence, Data Science and Digital improvement processes


5. Process Support

• Support with the translation of the Functional Strategy into achievable outputs
• Statistical analysis of production data to identify certain trends that might influence future production scheduling on a BU level
• Support with the business performance reporting process Safe and Healthy Work Environment
• Adhere to all health and safety practices and promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
• Address all unsafe practices and potential hazardous situations, rectify and report to superior.


6. Comply with Safety Health and Environmental (SHE)/technical requirements

• Wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times.

QUALIFICATION:
• BEng Industrial Engineering (Essential/Minimum or)
• BEng Engineering (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum and)
• BEng (Hons) Industrial Engineering (Essential/Minimum)
• Completed Management Development Programme (Recommended/Desirable)




REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 6 – 8 Years Operational Experience (Essential/Minimum)
• Mining background and simeo simulation experience (Essential/Minimum)
• Experience in Project Evaluation and Improvement, Industrial Engineering tools and techniques. (Essential/Minimum)
• Exposure to projects in heavy industry environment. (Essential/Minimum)
• Mining processes; Dynamic Simulation modelling; Operational Research; Work and Method studies, (Essential/Minimum)
• Economical evaluations, Improvement methodologies with Project management exposure (Essential/Minimum)
