SENIOR LOGISTICS CONTROLLER/SUPERVISOR - PRETORIA (Based at Rosslyn Plant)
Reports to Group Logistics Manager as well as Plant Manager R50 000 CTC MAXIMUM
Will manage 2 x Logistics coordinators.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Overall responsibility for ensuring that the objectives of the Logistics Department are achieved
• Responsible for achieving correct material control at plant with specific focus material cut lengths scrap reduction.
• Responsible for achieving materials are brought into the company at the right time in the right quantity and at the right price with minimum safety stocks being kept without risking the company’s ability to supply our customers.
• Ensuring all activities are aimed at achieving customer satisfaction whilst acting in the best interest of the company
Duties to Manage:
• Responsible for pulling & analyzing Weekly Customer releases (BMW, FORD, NSA) from relevant Portals & daily monitoring thereof.
• Responsible for compiling Weekly internal Customer reports (BMW, FORD, NSA), Customer
demand vs Stock On Hand vs Stock In Transit, reviewing of risk.
• Highlighting any risk, with daily review + follow up until such is dissolved.
• Responsible for the ordering of ALL supplier raw materials local as well as Stores Non-stocked material & consumables.
• Ensuring the required stock is in line with guidelines set by management for each customer on a weekly basis and direct liaison with suppliers in this regard.
• Controlling the daily material/component Issues & recording and job closures on material issues & Finished Good monitoring via Syspro & Excel.
• Daily/Weekly review of all sales (FORD, BMW, NSA), actual supplied vs invoiced.
• Daily review of cycle counts, actual stock vs system. Correction/Adjustment to be made after
authorization by Plant Manager.
• Receipt, cross check of any deliveries, delivery note/invoice to be signed, dated, stock GRN, GRN Number recorded on documents and send through to Head Office.
• Weekly review of SOH vs demand for coming week for preparation of weekly material red for truck from UTH.
• Responsible for the Delivery of Finished Good Parts to Customers manufactured at Rosslyn Plant.
• This includes the organizing of transport & transport methods as well as direct liaison with
Customers. (ANY Out of Norm Transport Method required such as Express / Airfreight deliveries required on Raw Material & Finished Good Product requires the approval of the GM.
• Responsible for the provision of daily Finished Goods stock figures (FORD, BMW, NSA) to Plant Manager in order for Production to compile the Production Plan.
• Responsible for the weekly Analysis of ALL material requirements and usage & Daily Monitoring thereof.
• Notifying the appropriate department manager or supervisor of all situations that do not conform to the requirements of the Materials System and ensure that corrective action is taken in such situations. In cases where corrective action is not forthcoming, report the matter to the attention of the Plant Manager and or the Group Logistics Manager.
• Compliance & Action the Bare Minimum daily tasks as set out

Management Responsibilities:
• Material Requisition Planning System: Responsible for the effective and efficient running of the company material requisition planning system. Responsible for the monthly analysis of all customer releases and daily monitoring thereof.
• Stock Control: Responsible to ensure correct material control in plant via daily cycle counts and monthly stock takes. Supervision of the daily job loading, job closers, as well as issues and stock transfer recording of material

Customer Satisfaction:
• To ensure customer and company requirements are met by logistics department for annual customer audits of logistics areas within the company and annual submission to customer where required of MMOG.
• Responsible for reporting of monthly logistics customer vision status to headquarters

Reporting:
To ensure daily reporting of finished goods stock on hand values and implementation of
targets as per demand, agreement of Syspro stock on hand to daily stock reports and plant
production report, effective communication to plant & production managers.
• Responsible for completion of monthly logistics CGI
• Working Capital Reduction: Responsible to achieve stock value targets in % of sales.
• Obsolescence Control: Responsible to ensure correct ordering according to customer release and/or demand forecast so as to ensure correct raw material supply in line with end of production of customer projects thus avoiding obsolescence stock write off.
• Responsible for the set-up of all supply chain management and monitoring of service providers and supplier performance.
• Responsible for the delivery of finished good parts to customers & JIT warehouses. This includes the organizing of transport & transport methods as well as direct liaison with customers and plant managers (any out of budget transport required such as express/airfreight deliveries required on raw material and finished good product requires the approval of the General Manager)
• C1/SMD Customer submissions: Whilst C1/SMD submissions are outsourced, it is the responsibility of the Senior Logistics Controller to sign off and ensure the reported data is correct and assist the service provider where necessary to complete these customer submissions on time.

EXPERIENCE
• Must have at least 5-7 Years’ Experience in
Material Control & Logistics
• Must have Experience in the Automotive
Industry (Component Manufacturing).
• Must have managed staff ( 2 direct reports)

QUALIFICATIONS
• Matric
• Higher qualification in
Logistics/SAPICS/Material Control &
Logistics advantageous
• Computer Literate (Excel + MS Word)
• Extensive Knowledge of and Experience in
Syspro (will consider SAP or another
MRP/ERP system)
