Senior Mechanical Design Engineer within the manufacturing fabrication Industries JHB/ Gauteng
**Must have a 4 years Mechanical Bachelor of Engineering Degree** OR a 4years Mechanical BSC Degree is essential
Must have minimum 5+ years’ working years’ experience gained as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at companies
Must have experience using Solid works when designing, and 3D CAD modelling experience or similar is essential
Background in automated engineered systems advantage
Data pack experience
BOM experience
Own Project Managing experience gained
Conceptualize and design mechanical purpose-built machinery, industrial equipment, jigs, conveyor systems, lifting equipment OR Other products
Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software advantage but not essential
Specification of electro-mechanical, hydraulic +pneumatic control systems. advantage
Create+ assist with complex project quotations
Plan and lead medium to large projects
Perform design reviews.
Manage project risks.
Coach and mentor Junior Engineers.
Conduct complex and high-risk designs.
Ensure due diligence
Look at overall department efficiency, digitization, workflow streamlining and planning for the future.
Analyse mechanical functionality of systems, including Finite Element Analysis.
Develop manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable company standards using Solidworks
Interface with Customers, Vendors, Production Managers Procurement to find optimal solutions.
Read + interpret, technical drawings + schematics essential
Liaise with Automation engineers + other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, provide technical information.
Work to Company CAD and PDM standards.
Detailed Designs done ISO, SABS and Customer Standards.
Specify system components or direct modifications of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
Willing to relocate if needed
Able to start immediately or as soon as possible (1 – 2 weeks) - advantage
Salary offered: R35 000 -R47 000 Gross CTC per month
