Sovereign Foods, a national supplier of top quality chicken products to the SA market via various brands, is seeking to employ a Senior Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner for its operations in Uitenhage.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested candidates for this position at the Human Resources Division. The job holder is responsible for managing the company’s Occupational Health Clinics, resources and staff and to provide optimized medical care to employees, thereby promoting and protecting employee’s health within a safe working environment.

A qualification as a Registered Nurse (B Curr. or Diploma in Nursing), a Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing, a certificate in Audiometry and Spirometry, a valid Dispensing License and five years’ experience in managing an Occupational Health Clinic are required, together with valid registration with SANC and SASOHN. The ability to communicate in isiXhosa and having a valid Driver’s License will be advantageous.

• Manage and maintain Clinic resources, supplies and consumables
• Manage and develop subordinates
• Maintain adherence to statutory requirements, company policies and procedures
• Collate information and produce reports, as directed
• Manage departmental costs
• Analyze and report on health matters, incidents, accidents and trends
• Participate in and make recommendations to the Health & Safety Committee and other stakeholders
• Equip the Clinic to deal with all foreseeable medical emergencies
